  • Parish Education Boards and School Boards

A parish education board or school board is established in most Catholic schools.

The board brings together priests, members of religious orders, principals, parents and members of the parish community in a spirit of collaboration to realise the school's vision and achieve its educational aims.

Boards are advisory and may provide advice in areas such as school improvement and the development of policy.  Information regarding parent representation on the parish education board or school board are available at your child's school.

Support for the establishment and formation of school boards in the Archdiocese of Melbourne is provided by the Catholic Education Office Melbourne. This support includes the provision of professional learning programs.
