St Jude’s softball champions

St Jude the Apostle softball state championsSt Jude the Apostle School in Scoresby is proudly celebrating the achievements of 12 Grade 6 boys in their softball team who have won the Victorian State Softball Championship.

Beginning in June, the team has remained undefeated winning through their district, division and regional competitions before successfully winning all three games and their final at the State Competition held on 15 November at Jell’s Park.

With only two of the 12 boys playing softball or baseball outside of school, the team gave up their lunchtimes to practice and learn from one another to improve their skills and game strategies.

Even with our very talented pitcher, the team’s batting, fielding, catching and positive encouragement of one another was a major factor in the team’s success. Luke, the team's pitcher said, ‘I am really proud to be part of this team – the boys played well and were “good sports” to the other teams’.

Luke has been selected to represent Victoria in the School Sport Victoria boys team and has been elected as the Captain of the team for 2017. He travels to Adelaide in December to represent Victoria.
