We need to continue developing strategic alliances and stronger partnerships with parents, parishes, local government, business and community services and explore options to co-locate schools with community health centres, kindergartens and activity centres.

    Overview

    The aim of the Catholic Leadership Centre (CLC) is to provide a facility where Catholic Education Melbourne can further educate our educators: a place where principals, teachers and administrators can learn how to better serve our schools and become exemplary leaders.

    The CLC is a state-of-the-art, world class learning and conference centre that includes two large halls, 10 learning/conference spaces, a 350 seat dining room, and 45 accommodation rooms, all centrally located in East Melbourne.

    Operated by Catholic Education Melbourne, the CLC hosts professional learning and leadership programs and executive courses and conferences that support Catholic education and Catholic agencies. The CLC provides purpose-built learning and conference spaces, including the latest in conferencing technology and is operated by a team of hospitality specialists.

    Executive Masters Business Administration (Executive) (MBAE) Program – Cohort 1 graduation

    In 2015 the CLC was proud to see the first Cohort 1 group from the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and Catholic Education Melbourne Executive MBAE residential program graduate. The CLC has been hosting this program and the Cohort 1 group since the beginning of 2012.

    Increase in bookings 

    In 2015 the CLC had an increase in bookings with more than 930 conference and professional learning programs, over 12,000 total visitors to the centre and the highest occupancy rate since opening in 2012. Proudly the CLC’s largest demographic is still Catholic education with 65% of bookings coming from Catholic Education Melbourne and Catholic schools, 30% coming from Catholic agencies and 5% from other organisations.

    New pricing structure 

    In October 2015 the CLC rolled out its new pricing structure in the form of an all-inclusive Day Delegate package. The package is designed to make it easier for facilitators and convenors to book venue spaces, catering and audio visual equipment, while providing a lower rate for Catholic education and Catholic agencies.

    CLC Accommodation – now available to all 

    In 2015 the CLC made its accommodation rooms available to all staff and families within our Catholic community for recreational and leisure bookings, as well as being available to support events and functions. The accommodation rooms are 4.5 star quality and include secure parking, internet access and a continental breakfast.

    In addition to the regular professional learning programs and Catholic conferences, there were key Catholic Education Melbourne events held at the CLC in 2015 that included:
